Chairman of Okene Local Government Council of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Ogembe, said yesterday that his administration is partnering security agencies to effectively curb crimes in the area.
The chairman, who spoke yesterday when a security assessment team set up by the Inspector-General of Police, Alhaji Muhammed Abubakar, visited the area, said his administration has zero-tolerance for crime, assuring of logistic support to law enforcement agencies to enable them flush out criminals. He commended the police authorities for setting up the team.
He also informed the four-man assessment team that the swift response of the police to distress calls and their regular patrol of the area have considerably reduced violence and nefarious activities.
Leader of the assessment team, Mr. Patrick Ayambo, commended the chairman for providing a Toyota Hilux van for the police among other logistics.
He expressed hope that the partnership between the police and the council would help to curb social ills in the area.
