A shortened version of the term used in the ICD-10 – mental and behavioural disorders due to psychoactive substance use. The term encompasses acute intoxication, harmful use, dependence syndrome, withdrawal state, withdrawal state with delirium, psychotic disorder and amnesic syndrome.
For a particular substance these conditions may be grouped together as, for example, alcohol disorders, cannabis use disorders, stimulant use disorders. So therefore, who ever thought or claimed that the just concluded election into Kogi State House of Assembly in Okene II constituency was under free and fair conduct must be under the influence of phycoactive drugs, who need an urgent medical intervention.
Okene II constituency election was under the siege of political hoodlums sponsored by the ruling party, the All Progressive Congress (APC), and it was very clear to every good citizen of Okene II constituency who witnessed the electoral conduct in the constituency that it was not a free and fair election.
The APC thugs took over the polling station across the constituency as they were accompanied by some group of men who disguised themselves as a member of Nigeria police force, they snatch ballot boxes and destroyed some of the electoral materials.How can a reasonable person claimed that the Okene II election was conducted base on free and fair when some people were denied of their rights.
Some women were beaten mercilessly for voting for candidate of their choice and some youths were chased away by thugs and the disguised policemen.
While the election was in process, the thugs and the disguised policemen invaded the house of one comrade Momoh Sanni also known as Duwa who is the youth chairman of People Democratic Party’s forum in one of the district in Okene II and he was chased away. Also, one Aisha Audu from Obehira eba ward was also beaten merciless that she even sustained some injuries. So many of them that can’t be mention on this article.
We may not be able to take to the street of Okene II to flag our protest as they are fond of zerbanism and prestitute, so we chose to use the media platform to protest against the odd they called free and fair election in Okene II and Kogi state at large.
I urge the good people of Okene II to stand by the people’s choice as we are on the task to claim back the stolen mandate of Okene II constituency.
