Okene Council Chairman Restrict Operation of Motorcyclists to Curb Insecurity

Executive Chairman of Okene local government council of Kogi state, Engr. Abdulrazaq Muhammad, has directed the restriction of all motorcycle operations in the area.

The restriction directive, according to the council chairman, is a security measure to further enhance peace and tranquilty in Okene.

Under the new restriction order, motorcycle owners now to operate between 6:30am-6:30pm in Okene local government.

The Council Chairman also set up joint security taskforce to further regulate the activities of all motorcyclist in Okene Local Government.

With effect from 22 November 2021, all commercial motorcyclist were mandated to wear unified reflective jackets with unit and local government numbers.

Security agencies, in conjunction with the constituted joint committee, will enforce the directives aimed at curbing insecurity in the area.
