Okene Council Chairman Hails Confluence University’s Smooth Take-Off

The Chairman of Okene Local Government Council, Engr. Abdulrazaq Muhammad has commended the management of Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, for the smooth take-off of academic activities in the institution.

Abdulrazaq gave the commendation when he led his cabinet members on a courtesy visit to the pioneer Vice Chancellor, Prof. Salawu Sadiku on Tuesday.

He stated that the appointment of Sadiku, an indigene of Okene, as Vice Chancellor is well deserved.

“As an indigene of Okene local government who has acquired so much academic knowledge and administrative experience over the years, I have no doubt that you will deploy same to develop the institution to an enviable height in no distance time,” he said.

He prayed for more wisdom, guidance and the needed strength to pilot the affairs of the new institution.

In his response, Vice-Chancellor described the visit as a moral booster. He thanked the council chairman for his support and encouragement so far.

He acknowledged the contributions of the local governments and reiterate the efforts of the university to reciprocate the gesture in employment opportunities and other statutory benefits.

The Vice-Chancellor maintained that in less than a year of accreditation of the institution, the school was able to attract students to commence academic activities.

He said the school was established to bridge the gap in science and technology and of course compliment the effort of Kogi State University, Anyigba to provide qualitative education for the people of Kogi state.
