Okene Administrator Empowers 150 Women, Elders, Traders

Again, the Administrator of Okene Local Government, Engr. (Mall) Abdulrazaq Muhammad has put smiles on the faces of women, traders and some elderly persons in the the council.

Yesterday’s event was the 7th series of his empowerment program. In this episode, the empowerment program took another dimension as the council boss presented the dividends of democracy on the door step of market women and elders in the community.

The empowerment program provide the sum of Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000) each to 85 petty traders to boast their business capitals while another set of 35 aged men and women received Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000) each inform of Conditional Cash Transfer to improve their standard of living.

In the same vein, a set of 30 youths received the sum of Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000) each as allowances for transport and feeding to enable them go to their respective places of Vocational training with ease.

At the flag off of the event in Okene on Wednesday, the council Administrator thanked the people for being supportive to the government of Alh. Yahaya Bello.

He enjoined the beneficiaries, especially traders, to make good use of the fund as government is committed to empower them in order to emasculate poverty from the land.

The council boss tasked them to sustain their support for the government and exhort them to vote for the Candidates of All Progressive Congress (APC) in the forthcoming general elections.

He assured that the next phase of empowerment will capture more youths and party supporters.
