Barely two weeks to Presidential and National Assembly elections, a foremost aspirant for Kogi State house of assembly, Hon. Abdulrasheed Adabara-Ovosi has dumped Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA) to pursue his aspiration to give his people all the required representation.

Adabara, who was the leading and most popular aspirant under the PDP in Okene 1 constituency, was not allowed to participate in the November PDP primary election after paying the huge sum for intent and nomination fee to PDP.

Adabara cited injustice and fraudulent processes in the primary as the reasons for his defection.

“Violation of electoral guidelines in the conduct of assembly primary election by the leadership of Okene Local Government was most unfortunate.

Adabara has asked his teeming supporters to remain steadfast and law abiding while they prepare for February 28 general elections.

He said in a transparent process, no state assembly candidate in other political parties has what it takes to defeat him in general election. “It is a matter of one’s popularity with the people because Okene of today is far different from what obtained years ago”.
