The Secretary of Okehi Local Government Area, Hon. Matthew James Omeiza, has praised the Transition Chairman, Hon. Monday Amoka Eneji (ODU), for the successful modernization of the 2024 Echeane Festival in the Eika district.
During his remarks at the festival’s grand finale on Wednesday in Eika-Ohizenyi, Hon. Matthew highlighted the “unique and extraordinary” enhancements made by Hon. Amoka.
He also expressed his gratitude to the Ohinoyi of Ebira-Land, HRM Ahmed Tijani Anaje for attending the event, emphasizing the significance of his presence in fostering a new era for the Anebira community.
Additionally, Okehi Scribe commended the Ohinoyi for his dedication to Ebira culture and his efforts in promoting peace and unity among traditional rulers and the Ebira people.
Hon. Matthew also voiced support for the Ohinoyi’s Ebira Archives initiative and the reintroduction of history in school curricula to preserve cultural heritage.
Hon. Matthew underscored the importance of upholding and preserving our traditions and culture, ensuring they are passed down to future generations. He emphasized that maintaining cultural practices and educating the youth about their heritage are crucial for sustaining the community’s identity and values.
Hon. Matthew urged all stakeholders to support the Caretaker Chairman’s initiatives aimed at empowering the grassroots.
He finally appreciate all the dignitaries most especially the state Accountant General, Hajiya Habiba Onumoko, Hon. Yakubu Fancy, Ozi Ahovi, SA Media and Publicity, Mr Ismail Isah and many others who were in Eika to celebrate Echeane festival.
