The Executive Chairman of Okehi Local Government Area, Hon. Amoka Eneji Monday, on Wednesday, celebrated his first anniversary in office in a grand event held at the LGA Secretariat, Obangede.
The colorful celebration witnessed a large turnout of dignitaries, political stakeholders, traditional rulers, and community members who gathered to honor the chairman’s one year of impactful leadership and service to the people.
Among the notable personalities present were former Local Government Chairmen, Alhaji M.K. Ibrahim and Alhaji Yusuf Mamman, as well as elder statesman Hon. A.K. Salihu, a two-term member of the House of Representatives. Hon. Salihu, in his remarks, commended the council chairman for his commitment to the people, particularly his decision to reach out to party leaders and community members despite limited resources.
The event was also graced by prominent figures including Hon. Idris Ozi Shaibu, Special Adviser on Finance, who led other Special Advisers; Chairman of Kogi central forum of Senior Special Assistants, Hon. A.A. Okene also led Forum members to grace the occasion ; members of the Okehi Legislative Council; staff and management of the council; traditional rulers led by the Ohi of Ihima, HRH Alhaji Ahmed Abdulraheem Ogido; religious leaders from both the League of Imams and CAN; as well as the Provosts of the Federal College of Education, Okene, and the College of Nursing, Obangede. Student Leaders, NYSC members, and several other dignitaries were also in attendance.


As part of the activities marking the celebration, millions of naira were disbursed to empower hundreds of beneficiaries across the 11 wards of the Local Government. The beneficiaries received support aimed at improving their livelihoods and promoting self-reliance.
In his address, Hon. Amoka Eneji Monday expressed deep appreciation to the Chief of servant Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, and the state Leader , Former Governor, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, for their guidance and support since he assumed leadership of the Local Government.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to good governance, community development, and continuous empowerment of the people at the grassroots.
