The Vice-President of the Kogi State Traditional Council and the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Dr. Ado Ibrahim, yesterday called on Nigerians to support the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan in its efforts at tackling the barrage of security challenges rocking the country.

Dr Ibrahim, who made this call yesterday when the Acting Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Kingsley Adeyinka Oguntuase, paid him a courtesy visit in his palace in Okene.

The monarch said it is only when people are united that there would be peace and development. While he said there must be unity of purpose, he also enjoined all to join hands in building a peaceful and prosperous country.

“Let us all join hands to support President Jonathan; he has never claimed to be all knowing. Let us tell him where he is wrong,” the traditional ruler urged.

He said though there are many challenges confronting the nation, the issue of security must be tackled holistically, stating that the issues of crude oil theft and pipeline vandalisation call for concern.

The royal father said the establishment of the NSCDC could not have come at a better time than now to address some of the security challenges facing the nation. He also called on the acting commandant to adequately address the issue of pipeline vandalism in the state.
