Ohinoyi of Ebiraland Endorses 2024 Ebira Mountaineering Project

The 2024 annual marathon and hiking contest, Ebira Mountaineering Project (EMP), tagged “Governor Ododo’s Edition” has received a boost from the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, His Royal Majesty, Alhaji Ahmed Tijani Muhammed Anaje.

The highly revered monarch endorsed the project during a courtesy visit to the king’s palace in Okene, led by the Chairman of the project, Hon. Abdulhamid Aminu Okene, Senior Special Assistant to Governor of Kogi State on KOSIPA, in company of Hon. Ejide Ozioto, Senior Special Assistant on Project Monitoring to the Governor, Hon. Mathew James Avabee, Chief of Staff to the Chairman of Okehi Local Government; Hon. Obiyo and a host of others.

His Royal Majesty commended the organizers for initiating this kind of project that promotes unity and empowerment for the youths of Ebiraland. He also emphasized the importance of maintaining a strong team spirit and proper documentation of Ebira history and preservation of ancestral artefacts of our forefathers.

The King expressed his readiness to support the project and suggested that the project should be expanded and generally adopted by the people of Ebiraland where notable sons and daughters of Ebiraland will converge annually to support participating youths in the contest.

The Ebira Mountaineering Project Chairman, Abdulhamid Aminu Okene thanked His Royal Majesty and reiterated the importance of having an endorsement from our royal father and said his support carries significant weight, and his guidance will undoubtedly help shape the project’s success.

“We are more than happy that our father considers this project worthy of support. With the backing of our revered royal father, the Ebira Mountaineering Project is on its way to becoming a flagship event in Ebiraland, celebrating our rich cultural heritage, promoting unity among us and empowering the youths through financial support. As the project moves forward, we promise it’s going to be a one-of-a-kind and it’s going to make a significant impact on the lives of our people,” Hon. AbdulHamid said.
