The Ohinoyi of Ebira land, Dr Ado Ibrahim, has charged the people to channel their resource towards the promotion of culture and tradition of the area.
The reverred monarch gave the charge in Okene during a beauty contest organised by Princess Megida Foundation.
He said the only way tribes and tradition can be prevented from going into extinction was through constant promotion of culture activities that would educate their younger generation.
The Ohinoyi of Ebira land commended the organizer and expressed happiness that the annual contest has added to the glamour and promotion of Ebira culture.
He called on well meaning individuals from the district to channel their resources into promotion of culture in the interest of the people.
Speaking at the occasion, the organiser of the beauty pageant, Princess Onize Megida, expressed happiness over the successful hosting of 2021 edition of the annual event.
She disclosed that her Foundation embarked on the sponsorship of Miss Ebira Beauty pageant competition to show case the inner beauty of Ebira women and to promote Ebira cultural values and heritage.
Speaking on the challenges facing the annual event, she expressed concern over the lack of sponsors and appealed to well to do Ebira indigenes and corporate organisations in the state to sponsors the programme to showcase the beauty of Ebira ladies as well as promote Ebira culture.
She also called on Ebira women to show more interest in the annual event by coming out in large number to contest in the competition.
A 300 level medical student of All Saints University Medical School, Dominica, Canada, Miss Adelina Oiza Anivasa was crowned Miss Ebira for the year 2021.
The winner of the pageant went home with a brand new car and a cash of N300,000 while the first runner up, Miss Hanatu Onono AbdulMalik, was given N200,000 and the second runner up, Miss Talatu Ohugudo, got N100,000.
