Kogi state commissioner for works and housing, Engr. Abubakar Ohere, has commended Hon. Umar Oricha Shaibu, the Director General of Kogi State Government House for his constant promotion of Ebira land and for his outstanding contributions to nation building.
Ohere gave the commendation in Lokoja on Thursday while felicitating with Oricha on the occasion of his 60th birthday anniversary.
Ohere, who is the leader of the appointees from Kogi Central, described Oricha as “a courageous and patriotic person”.
“I note with great pleasure that in the last four and a half years, you have demonstrated great courage and patriotism while conducting the affairs of the state.
“Your consistent display of unwavering commitment to the unity, peace and progress of Kogi State, and particularly Ebiraland your father’s land, is legendary and worthy of commendation,” he said.
According to Engr. Ohere, the office of DG Government House under Hon. Oricha leadership has remained focused and peoples-oriented owing to his dexterity, capacity and vibrancy.
“As you mark this auspicious occasion, I wish to join your teeming well-wishers in praying to Almighty God to grant you more wisdom and sound health to continue to serve the state and the nation at large,” he added.
Also, member representing Okene l state constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Lawi AT Ahmed has described Oricha as a rare gift to the state.
In a statement issued by his special assistant on media and publicity, Lawi said the people of Kogi state are blessed to have Oricha.
He lauded the immense contributions of Hon. Oricha to the development of Ebiraland and Kogi state in general.
Lawi said Hon. Oricha had every cause to celebrate and thank God Almighty for His benevolence on the joyful occasion of his birthday anniversary while noting that the DG Government House has done well in the state, especially in the area of uplifting youths and other landmark empowerment of youth and women across the state.
“On behalf of my family, and the people of Okene l state constituency, I write to felicitate with you on the occasion of your birthday anniversary, today.
“Over the years, you have given yourself to the cause of peace and development in Kogi State. For this, we owe you an enduring debt of gratitude.
“In a life that has seen you reach an enviable height of your public service and political endeavours, there is great cause for you, members of your family, your many associates and well-wishers to thank Almighty God for His benevolence upon you, adding “As you deservedly celebrate this day, it is my prayer that Almighty God continues to bless you with robust health and many more years of happiness,” he said.
