Ohere Congratulates Gov. Bello on Re-election, Hails INEC for Free, Fair, Credible Polls

The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Engr, Abubakar Ohere has congratulated Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello on his re-election.

In his statement on Monday after the declaration by the INEC, Ohere said Governor Bello’s victory at the just concluded poll was a reflection of his wonderful and visionary leadership over the last four years.

“You have led Kogi and our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), to an unprecedented meridian within fours years, and in so doing, you have written the most important chapter of our democracy with positivity,” he said.

He urged Kogi indigenes to remain calm and peaceful and expect more developments, stressing that, “the promise of President Muhammau Buhari is becoming a reality, as  this election has further demonstrated that democracy has come to stay in our state and country at large”.

Ohere commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the security agencies over the conduct of the polls.

He asked other candidates to take the outcome as the yearnings of Kogites.

Governor Yahaya Bello of APC was declared winner by INEC having polled 406,222 votes to defeat Engr. Musa Wada of PDP, who scored 189,704.
