A front line candidate and the APC standard flag bearer for the Ankpa, Olamaboro and Omala federal constituency election in 2019, Hon Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims has called for the institutionalization of an age long cultural festivity of Ankpa people.
The festival popularly referred to as “Oganyi-Angwa” is an annual celebration of ancestral lineages by the people and descendants of Angwa community of Ankpa local government area of Kogi state.
Speaking at this year’s celebration where the reps hopeful was a chairman of the ceremony, Hon Halims noted that the values of cultural heritage in tourism attraction can not be over empathised calling on the state government to commence procedures that will enable proper recognition of Oganyi-Angwa stressing the call on the prospective IGR benefits it can give to the state if properly adopted.
Furthermore, the reps candidate assured the people of emerging prosperous days on his assumption of office even as testimonies of his enduring track record of human and infrastructural development during his reign at the Kogi state house of assembly heralded the place.
Highlight of the day was hilarious displays, musical fiesta and dance etcetera in justification of the highly revered festival which attracted the viewing pleasure of many from far and near as commuters were seen been carried away by the euphoria of the day too.
It could be recalled that Hon Halims is a word for bond man as his motions and contributions on the floor of the house during his reign at the Kogi state house of assembly were not only of quality in terms of credit but evident in the renovation of zonal hospitals across the state, erosion controls and attraction of government presence to his entire constituency.
