A Deputy National Director at the Big Tent’s national expansion frontier directorate, Comrade Sunday Bala Oma, has berated the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for being insensitive to loss of lives in Oganenigwu community, Dekina local government area of Kogi state.
Address newsmen in Abuja on Sunday, the former governorship candidate bemoaned the recent, albeit incessant attacks on residents of Oganenigwu by terrorists.
Bala Oma expressed his displeasure over the consistent attacks by suspected Fulani militants, who have continuously attacked the good people of Dekina local government council with reckless abandon.
“I find it difficult to believe that the peaceful people of Oganenigwu are being attacked and no one is saying anything. Worst of all, the government of Kogi state whose primary responsibility is to protect lives and properties have paid deaf ears to these continuous attacks against innocent citizens. Rather, they are busy with campaigns for a governorship election they have no idea if they will be alive to witness.
“We have House of Assembly members, National Assembly representatives as well as local government council chairman. The question is, where are they? Why has their voices become lost in a situation that need them to draw the attention of both the state and federal governments? Or are they accomplices of these terrorists? Are they waiting for a reprisal before they do the needful?,” he said.
Bala Oma warned that if nothing is done in 24hours, they will “have no option but to ask our people to defend themselves, since the government and their leaders have failed to protect them.”
He called on the Inspector General of Police and the Military to wade in and save the situation, adding that “we have no hope in the APC-led state government in Kogi who have misplaced priority at this critical time of our national life.”
