No doubt, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo is daily conquering the clutches of poverty in Kogi State. He once told some close confidants of his, that he knows what life below the ladder looks like and as Allah has provided him with opportunity to pilot the affairs of the state he would ensure that he puts smiles on the faces of the people. Indeed he has never failed in this direction.

Governor Ododo is not just a devout Muslim but one who firmly believes and practices the injunctions of Allah as contained in the Holy Koran.

There is no gain saying that the past governors of Kogi State have immensely contributed their quota to the development of the state. Each of the erstwhile governors of the state did their best since the creation of the state in August 1991 to add value to the existence of the people.

We cannot forget the political dexterity of late prince Abubakar Audu in laying a solid infrastructural foundation for the state, the administrative acumen of Alhaji Ibrahim Idris in uniting the people of the state, the financial prudence of Capt. Idris Ichalla Wada in stabilizing the state, the political wizardry of Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello aka White Lion in putting the state on the global map of recognition. Each of these great citizens of the state have done their best in moulding the state to the best of their administrative abilities.

Time and only time defines the essence of living. Remove time, life becomes void and shapeless. An all time Philosopher, Franz Fanon captured the essence of time when he once postulated that “Each generation must, out of relative obscurity, discover it’s mission, fulfill it or betray it.” Let me put it here that the Chief Servant of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo is not oblivious of the importance of time and the weight of Fanon’s words on the marble.

His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo strongly believes in the space of time in whatever he does in office. He is one humble leader who believes that as a Moslem, one day he will stand before Allah and give the account of the opportunity given to him to lead his people. This strong believe firmly forms the nexus with which he has been piloting the affairs of Kogi State since he assumed power on January 27, 2024.

Eleven months down the line, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has proven that the welfare of his people is the first line charge of his administration. He also believes that it is the people that makes the people and not the other way round. This twin believe in him is clearly manifest in the manner he has been piloting the affairs of Kogi State.

No doubt, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo is human, he definitely has his weak spot. But if one dissects the artery of his administration, it is resounding clear that his strong and positive disposition to governance far outweighs any of his weak spot, if there is any.

Since assumption of office, His Excellency has placed the welfare of the state and Local Government workers as top priority. He has never at once made noise on his package for Kogi workers but the proves of the early payment of salaries to workers are so glaring to a point that indigenes of the state and their friends living across Nigeria and in diaspora are well acquainted with his unmatchable strides on the welfare of workers which has not been so since the creation of the state in August 1991.

It is not about name singing but where a performer, a promise keeper in person of the Chief Servant of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo is excelling in governance, there is the dire need to lay it bare to the public and to all who cares.

Explaining why he paid early salaries on December 14, 2024, His Excellency said ” My workers deserve it, they deserve to earn their salaries early to enable them get their desired rest on time.” It is only a humane and Allah fearing leader in person of His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo who has ever remained thoughtful about the welfare of the workers of Kogi State and who has stood solidly firm on the side of the civil servants of the state who can say this openly without any fear of contradiction. May Allah continue to preserve him and keep him on track for the good people of Kogi State.

And to all the amiable civil servants of Kogi State, what can I say? Only to remind you all, that His Excellency, the Chief Servant of Kogi, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has left none of you in doubt that he is a selfless leader. He strongly believe in your comfort, that of your family members and the entire people of the state. There is therefore the need for the entire Kogi State workforce to give him the maximum support to make Kogi State a better place for all.

During the last Sallah celebration, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo paid salaries to workers on the 14th of the month. During the current Christian festive month, His Excellency also paid salaries to workers on December 14. Our governor strongly believes when the workers have put in their best in their various places of work and the time to celebrate comes, they should be paid salaries early to enable them enjoy with their family members and relatives. This is the embodiment of our amiable governor, the Allah fearing leader and a selfless politician to the core.

Kogi today is highly blessed to have His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo on the saddle of the leadership of the state. His Excellency is daily busy doing his best in putting the state in the front of the comity of states in Nigeria. Again he is an Apostle of Franz Fanon who strongly believes that, in his generation, he has out of relative obscurity discovered his mission in Kogi State and by the mercies of Allah is fulfilling it.

LETS ALL JOIN THE CHIEF SERVANT OF KOGI STATE, ALHAJI AHMED USMAN ODODO IN MAKING KOGI STATE A BETTER PLACE FOR ALL.

– Hon Chris Ben-Kato is the Senior Special Assistant on Information and communication strategy to Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Executive Governor of Kogi State.
