The national executive council of Okun Development Association (ODA), led by the President-General, Ambassador Rotimi Akenson, on Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to the Obaro of Kabba, HRM Oba Dele Owoniyi, at his palace.
Oba Owoniyi expressed delight in the association’s efforts to promote the development of Okunland.
In a statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Dayo Thomas, the visit was a gesture of respect and goodwill, aimed at strengthening the bond between ODA and the traditional institution.

The delegation comprised prominent members of ODA, including Barr. Femi Oloruntoba, National Secretary, ODA; Hon. Dayo Akanmode, National Treasurer, ODA; Prof. Mike Kupolati; Kabiru Fadile, President, Kabba Development Union (KDU); and Hon. Funso Olorunfemi, former Chairman, Kabba Bunu Local Government and a High Chief.
The discussions during the visit centered on ways to enhance collaboration between ODA and the Kabba kingdom, with a focus on promoting peace, unity, and development in Okunland.
The ODA EXCO expressed gratitude for the monarch’s support and guidance, reaffirming their commitment to working together for the betterment of the region.
“There was also a cordial interaction between ODA Exco and KDU, with a promise to partner together on community development programs.
“This visit underscores ODA’s dedication to engaging with traditional leaders and stakeholders in Okunland, fostering a sense of community and collective progress. By strengthening these relationships, ODA aims to drive development initiatives that benefit the people of Okunland,” the statement added.
