The Okun Development Association (ODA) has commended Kogi state government and security agencies for continued onslaught against bandits and criminals in the area.

In a statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Dayo Thomas, ODA said the recent arrest of 26 suspected kidnappers by the Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) and security agencies marked a significant milestone in the fight against insecurity.

These efforts, led by the state government’s strategic initiatives, have yielded impressive results, with the apprehension of heavily armed kidnappers and local collaborators. Notably, 16 of the arrested suspects were caught in a recent raid in the Bunu forest, including some from Zamfara State.

“Today, we stand united in celebrating a monumental achievement in our collective quest for peace and security in Okunland.

“We must ensure all citizens are safe and secure.

“We recognize the challenges we face, but with collaboration between security agencies, local vigilantes, and the community, we will overcome them.

“Let’s support our security teams and expose those working against us. Together, we can build a safer Okunland,” the statement read.

While commending our security operatives, local vigilantes, and hunters, ODA urged them to extend their operations to other parts of Okunland, particularly Ponyan in Yagba East LGA, where Chief Ajayi Bello is still being held.
