There are legends alluding to a King, Elegha, whose coffin turned into a stone and the Ako Kereje – Kereje (6 in numbers). A part of the hill is said to sound like the talking drum.

At the peak of Obangogo is a pool of spring water which is believed to possess healing powers (omi ero). Similar curative abilities is believed of the five mystical lake on the hill called ‘Ako’. The rock formation on the hills provides a spectacular and engaging phenomenon that will interest photographers and film makers.

Hajia Rekiat Alfa (Hajia London), who is one of the strongest convener of the 2019 Obangogo day, reiterated the uniqueness of the Obangogo day and the promises it has in stock.

She said in one of her campaigns for the day that it’s a culture for people to gather around the Obangogo hills every 27th of  December to celebrate the uniqueness adding that the celebration which started actively in 2013 has recorded great successes over the years and will not record anything less in 2019. This we do for the story to continue to transient from generations to generation, that way we’ll be informing our unborn generations of how Kabba was protected from the enemies and how it came to be.

She is using this medium to  invite the Government to come for the day and also calling on the Government, great sons and daughters of Kabba to come to the aid of Kabba people by exploiting the Obangogo hills as there are lots of benefits that can accrue to it and the incredible streams of income that come to the locals if Obangogo hills is developed to maximize its advantage for sight-seeing, adventure, picnic, holidays and business.
