The National Youth Council of Nigeria, Lokoja Local Government Chapter, has felicitated with Muslims and the entire people of Lokoja Local Government Area on the occasion of celebration Eid-el-Fitr, 2016.
The Council made the felicitation in a press statement signed by the Director of Media and Publicity, Yabagi Mohammed, where the President, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu, called on the faithful to pray for the growth and development of the state and country.
According to the statement, Comrade Abdullahi enjoined Muslims to pray for leaders at all levels, saying that it is only through their prayers and empathy to the prevailing situation in the country that leaders would reciprocate and make efforts to addressing the myriad of challenges confronting the people.
The President, while also felicitating with the governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Umar Imam, the administrator of Lokoja Local Government, Hon Lawal Shiru and other leaders in the state, he reminded them that the youths in Lokoja Local Government have continued to face several problems hampering their growth.
Comrade Abdullahi who described youths as leaders of tomorrow, called on them to design programmes and policies that would affect the lives of youths positively, assuring of their continued support.
He praised efforts being made by Rt. Hon Imam and Hon Shiru towards eradicating youth restiveness and insecurity in Lokoja Local Government, and urged them to do for the benefits of all Lokoja people.
The president, while especially calling for proactive measures to address the plight of workers of Lokoja Local Government, especially the issue of lack of salaries and payment on percentage, he said the situation was getting dire by the day.
He therefore enjoined them to put compassion ahead every other consideration so as to benefit the people and ameliorate their problems.
