The executive secretary of Youth Advocate for Middle-belt Identity and Emancipation, Comrade Opeyemi Duke, has called on the Minister of Youth Affairs, Mr Inuwa Abubakar, to trade the path of honour by resigning his position.
Comrade Duke, while addressing journalist in Abuja alleged that, the minister unduly interfered in the aborted congress of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) in Makurdi by trying to impose one Mr Shendam Yakubu on Nigerian youths which has caused a serious division among members of the only youth body in the country established by an act of parliament.
The minister claimed he was acting under instructions from the Presidency to deliver Mr Shendam at all cost but unfortunately for him, the Nigerian youths resisted him which eventually lead to the postponement of the congress to a later date by the congress men.
Comrade Duke describe the actions of the minister as desperate, undemocratic and wicked which must be condemned by all patriotic Nigerians especially the Nigerian youths.
Comrade Duke commend the Nigerian youths for their doggedness and resilient in protecting and promoting democracy in Nigeria even in the face of intimidation and financial inducement.
Signed: Opeyemi Duke
Executive Secretary,
youth advocate for middle belt identity and emancipation.
