Chairman Confluence Queens Football Club of Lokoja, Mallam Abdul Sule, has blamed his side lack of cutting edge for the 1-0 defeat against Osun Babes in Ede on Sunday.

The game seems to be heading into a draw between the both side but a 76th minute goal from Abiodun Adebayo, ensured the home team snatched the three needed points against Confluence Queens who enjoined larger part of possessions.

Abdul Sule, who watched his girls away from home for the first time in a competitive game rues the missed opportunities.

“We gave Osun Babes the match, because we are the better side and we should have sealed the win right from the first half, but our attackers could not convert begging chances.”

“It’s disappointing we lost such a game, but our focus now should be the next and last game of the season away to Martin Whyte Doves of Benin, its an important match for us to stand a chance for the Super Six.“

However, the Lokoja based side played under protest as Osun Babes used an uncleared  player Joy Iroezi.

Joy Iroezi, played for Confluence Queens last season but was not cleared to Osun Babes.

The Wada Queens have garnered 20 points this season from 13 matches and are now placed third in the group A of the Nigeria Women Premier League log.
