There is a relative increment in the cost of transportation across all the motor parks in Lokoja to other part of Kogi state.
The State Secretary of the National Union of Road and Transport ?Workers (NURTW) Mr Sunday Ehimony in lokoja, explained that the increment was as a result of prices of fuel supply and some other constraints on the highway.
Ehimony, said the increment in the cost of transportation is always as a result of the increase in the markets and petroleum products.
He urged travelers to bear with them as there was nothing they can do about it.
He noted that they have tried not to increase fares too high but very minimal so as not to put? travellers on the tight side.
It was gathered that the cost of transportation within the state was also hiked.
Our sources reports that the cost of transportation from Lokoja to Ayingba which used to be #500 is now #700, while Lokoja to Kabba which used to be #600 had been increased to #800
