The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, Idah Federal constituency chapter, has commended the chairman, Igalamela/Odolu Local Government, Comrade Zatiko Umar, for the appointment of Comrade Aliyu Hawa Musa, as the secretary to the local government.
The state trustee of the union, Comrade Sunday Haruna, gave the commendation when he led executive members of the branch on a visit to the chairman in his office.
He expressed confidence in the ability of the secretary to perform and deliver judging from his antecedent as a major stakeholder of the union before his appointment.
He described Igalamela/Odolu council as a melting point of unionism, based on the backgrounds of the chairman as an official of the Medical and Health Workers Union and the new secretary to council.
The council branch chairman of the union, Comrade Tahiru Abdullahi, stated that the victory of Comrade Zakito at the polls was a victory for the entire workers, adding that it was a demonstration of the preparedness of the staff to support and cooperate with his administration to succeed.
The chairman thanked the union leaders for the visit and the support given him during his tenure as zonal chairman, medical and Health Workers Union.
He assured that as a former union leader, he would continue to defend the interest of the union even in his new capacity as council chairman and called for the support and cooperation of the staff at all time.
