NUJ also praised the Commissioner of Information, Kingsley Fanwo, for his positive roles.

“The NUJ is particularly pleased that the Governor is rightly showing the way, doing the right thing and giving hope to the people.

“By this appointment, The Graphics Newspaper will be repositioned for the better and also commended the Governor for his prompt attention to the media industry in the state, citing the provision of solar power, 33KVA line for Radio Kogi as examples of such commitment,” the statement read.

Kogi NUJ Council equally expressed concern over the frequent vandalization of Ochaja booster station and urged communities in the area to ensure adequate protection of the station through vigilante services.

The body assured that it will sustain its support and synergy with the present administration, saying the importance of such cooperation cannot be ever emphasized.

The Council expressed optimism that J.Y.Itopa will deliver as a media professional who has proved his worth over the years.

It, however, urged the appointee to live above board by remaining a good ambassador of NUJ.
