The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has expressed its readiness to collaborate with the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development to address the menace of illegal mining in Kogi State.
NSCDC Zonal Commander in charge of Zone ‘H’ comprising Kogi, Benue, Nasarawa, Taraba and Plateau states, ACG Osemwigie Lugard stated in Lokoja on Monday during a visit to the Kogi Command of the corps.
The NSCDC Zonal Commander said he was in the state to see to the wellbeing of its men and also assess their activities in combating crimes.
Osemwigie, who commended men of the command for their efforts, assured them that the NSCDC’s high command would soon provide the Kogi state Command with logistics that would enhance their day to day operations and crime fighting.
