The foremost security network in Ane’Igala, Operation Dago’Kegba has read out its riot act to political thugs in Kogi East ahead of the November 11 gubernatorial election.
In a circular made available to journalists in Lokoja on Saturday, the Chief Mobilizer of the network, Comrade Ajogwu Jerry Ochada advised the people of Kogi East to be law abiding before, during and after the forthcoming election.
According to the statement, the recent attacks and counter attack in Kogi East must not continue.
The group warned political thugs to desist from any act tantamount of ruining the peace of any community or local government in Kogi East.
“We are peace loving people but our gentility should not be mistaken as cowardice. The senseless killings of political opponents in Kogi state must be shunned else the perpetrators should be ready to face the consequences because it is not going to be business as usual.
“We also condemn in strong terms the recent blood bath in some communities in Ane’Igala. This is alien to our political culture and it must not continue. Anybody who wishes to embrace thuggery as a career should be ready to face immediate consequences. Ane’Igala is not a slaughter slab,”.
The Security Network further warned politicians to halt any form of campaign of calumny that may incite violence in Igala kingdom.
“The forthcoming election is another opportunity for us to unite as a people. It should not divide us because it is an ample time for us to think outside the box.
“The Igala nation should not be misled or threatened by anybody or group of persons working for the benefits of their pockets. We implore the Igala race to speak with one voice as we coast to victory,”.
Recall that Operation Dago’Kegba was launched on the 6th of November 2021 in memory of the late Igala sage, Dr Stephen Omakoji Achema.
Since inception, the group has embraced a non violence posture by preaching against thuggery and other forms of criminalities in Kogi East.
