It was the way Jonathan came into power that God replicated in Kogi State, by making Alhaji Yahaya Bello to inherit the victory of Prince Abubakar Audu, may the peace of God be on his soul,to become the governor of kogi state just like Jonathan inherited Yar’Adua’s government.
Jonathan was very wise and submissive, he adapted a patriarchal simplicity and enhance frugality in manners and lives an unostentatious life style and He came to term with Yar’Adua political family. He carried out genuine reconciliations with the aggrieved party members and he geared up Harmonization strategy and in the end he won the sympathy of his party members and he was given the chance to contest election and he won in the race.
Captain Idris wada came to power in a controversial circumstances but refused to reconcile genuinely with the aggrieved party members against the advice and suggestions of his party big shot. He thought he could form his own structure considering the fact that he was in power but at last he failed woefully to the then opposition.
His excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello should choose from the two above which strategy he should adopt. Living a reproachable character and sumptuous life style does not have a long term political value. Instead of wasting your resources, both time and money, looking for acceptance, it is advisable you adopt the Jonathan strategy and keep to the simple habit of your people, then you will see how God will enhance your victory and your fortunes. Anything short of these will mark you a potential failure and loser.
Give a deaf ears to praise singers and sycophants. They can only pull you down and misdirect you to suits their interest. ” He who praises you murder’s you”. Do not misuse this glorious one in town opportunity as opportunity they said ” is a swift of flight but slow to return”.
In the history of Kogi State, no governor has gotten as much cash as the present governor has got and yet the masses has not suffered like this since the creation of the state. Workers have turned to beggars, they can no longer depend on their monthly pay to take any useful decisions. They live is such a precarious situation as if they are in an IDP camp in their own state. They now see government as a terror which is more terrorizing than the insurgents. They are now witnessing a tyrannical system of government at the time when the world has subscribed to democracy.
The fact is Alhaji Bello’s government is full of bad advisers who does not have human feelings. Bello seems not to be in charge, people thought he has subordinated his authority and responsibility. I can not imagine a Governor to be like a stooge on the throne or toy in the hands of kids. Please retract, your government is highly irritating, inconsequential and uninteresting. People are fed up and bored with Bello’s government. This is just the fact. Some of Bello’s aides who are my close associates sees my submission as partly biased but they confirmed that my write was supposed to be a road map for their government.
I know that Bello will work, he will develop the state. Even if you want to steal, you must work before you can steal. So I am very optimistic that Bello will work beyond expectations but if he did not carry along the major stakeholders he will never be appreciated and the credit of his good work will be given to the owner of the mandate. I will continue to cheep in my meaningful suggestions, if you like take it or leave it, posterity shall judge all of us.
May Allah forgives our sins and direct our leaders to steer the steering of leadership to the interest of the masses. May God bless our state and the country at large. Maasalam.
