Our attention has been drawn to a Facebook post made by Chief Edward David Onoja on September 8, 2025, in which he expressed gratitude for life and brotherhood and further claimed that he “reconnected” with his younger brother, Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, former APC NWC member and SDP governorship candidate in the 2023 elections, after the APC aspirants’ meeting at Transcorp, Abuja.
In the interest of truth, accuracy, and public clarity, it has become necessary to set the record straight.
Contrary to the impression conveyed in the post, there was no reconciliation, no political engagement, and no private discussion between Chief Edward Onoja and His Excellency, Murtala Yakubu Ajaka. What transpired was nothing more than a brief moment when Chief Edward requested a photograph, to which His Excellency obliged out of courtesy. Beyond this short encounter, no form of dialogue or rapprochement took place.
While the post may project a sense of unity and brotherhood, it should not be misconstrued by the public as evidence of reconciliation or political alignment. The Ukomu Igala Executive inauguration, which Chief Edward referenced, was a community-focused event aimed at fostering inclusiveness and organizational growth. All interactions at the event were confined strictly to its purpose, with no extensions into political discussions or personal settlements between the two individuals.
This clarification is being issued to ensure the integrity of public information, to prevent the spread of misleading impressions, and to reaffirm the commitment of concerned stakeholders to transparency and accountability in public discourse.
