Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Kogi state chapter, Comrade Onuh Edoka has called on the state government to implement arrears of promotions being held by civil servants.

Edoka made the call during the inauguration of the newly elected executive members of Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN), Kogi State chapter.

Represented by the union’s vice chairman, Edoka said no worker in the state has benefited from promotion implementation since 2010.

He lamented that salaries of workers remained same since 2010, just as there are no annual increment, leave bonuses and other benefits.

While stating that the above situation with the inflation in the state have made things unbearable for workers.

He lauded the state government over non interference in union elections in the state, including that of the NLC.

He, however, reiterated the urgent need for the All Progressives Congress (APC) led government in the state to look into the welfare of state workers.
