The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Kogi state Chapter, has charged the Governor-elect, Alhaji Usman Ododo to address challenges bedeviling workers in the State.
Kogi State NLC Chairman, Comrade Gabriel Amari gave the charge in statement on Tuesday while felicitating with the Governor elect for his victory at the just concluded governorship election.
Amari, who noted that the union is looking forward for a robust relationship with the incoming administration, said the Governor-elect should address the area of workers welfare vis-a-vis salaries and emoluments.
The NLC Chairman said the support received from workers during last Saturday gubernatorial election was with the hope of addressing their pains down to the local government areas.
“The emergence of Ododo signals the dawn of a new development in the history of Kogi State. As Labour movement representing the interest of workers, we are assuring the incoming administration of our 100 percent support to achieve Kogi state of our dream.
“It is on this note we are appealing to the Governor elect Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo to address the challenges workers are facing in Kogi State ranging from welfare, visa-vis salaries and emoluments. Workers are having a renewed hope that this challenges NLC mentioned earlier will be nipped in the bud. NLC will keep praying for wisdom from God for the incoming administration in Kogi State to succeed,” the statement added.
While extending the felicitation to the Deputy Governor-Elect, Comrade Joel Oyibo on their victory at the poll, Amari urged him to work genuinely with his boss for a new Kogi State for civil servants and for all.
