Renown cultural outfit, Nike Art has concluded plans to train fifty women from the western senatorial district of Kogi state on how to make ‘adire’ local attire, tie and dye textiles.
The National President of Kogi Youths Alliance (KYA), Comrade Olufemi Temitope, made this known in Lokoja on Thursday.
Olufemi said arrangements to begin the two-week training program in Iyara, Ijumu LGA, has been concluded.
He added that KYA nominated the selected trainees with support from Engr Edward Meseko, a businessman and politician.
While expressing gratitude to Chief Nike Okundaye of Nike Arts Gallery for accepting to empower Kogi women, Olufemi said certificates of participation would be presented to the graduands and given starter packs to enable them operate on their own.
He added that the training will empower women to be self reliant.
Olufemi stated that the training will begin on Monday, August 2.
