Nigerian Star, Arokoyo Praises Gov Wada on Kogi United Rejuvenation

Kogi-born Europe based  football star, Gbenga Arokoyo has heaped praises on  Kogi State governor, Captain Idris Wada for his passion to develop football in Kogi state following the restructuring of Kogi United Football Club, stressing that his supports for sports so far deserves much applause.

Arokoyo, a defender at Swedish top flight club, Mjallby IAF in an exclusive chat commended the Kogi state governor for his investment in football and overwhelming passion for sports in the state amidst it merger resources.

The Brazil 2014 World Cup hopeful with the Super Eagles of Nigeria admitted the state has witnessed a massive turn-around in terms of sports as the governor’s investment in acquiring professionals and creating conducive environment for management of Kogi United FC and Confluence Queens FC following the appointment of Mallam Abdul Adama as the chairman, who he described as “the right peg in the right hole”.

He further noted that the decision of the governor to acquire a slot for Kogi United in the Nigeria National League where they relegated from underscores his resolve and readiness to develop football.

He insisted that the good days are here for Kogi football and however urged individuals and corporate organisations to support the kogi state government in achieving more success in sports.

With offers tripping-in from Spain, France and Italy, Gbenga Arokoyo who hails from Kabba could be on his way out of Sweden in the January transfer window after two-season at Mjallby, where the defender scored a goal in the 2012/2013 season.
