The leadership of the Kogi State Police Command has pledged support for the ongoing Kogi Anti-Fraud Awareness Campus Tour following a familiarization visit by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Fraud and Internet Matters, Hon. Oluseyi Kelvin Eleta.
Hon. Eleta, and his teammates, met with the 40th Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi, at the Command headquarters in Lokoja earlier this week.
Members of the delegation included Hon. Munirat Bint Ibrahim, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Women Entrepreneurship, Hon. Clement Daudu, Senior Special Assistant on Private Education Institutions, and Eleta’s Private Secretary, Miss Omotayo Precious Leramo.

During the meeting, the team commended the Commissioner for what they described as steady leadership at a time when security concerns require cooperation between public institutions and community actors. They also acknowledged the working relationship between the Police Command and the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo in addressing security challenges across the state.
The delegation used the visit to formally present the Kogi Anti-Fraud Awareness Campus Tour, a public sensitization programme designed to discourage fraudulent activities among young people and promote lawful economic engagement. According to Hon. Eleta, the initiative seeks to engage students and young adults through direct interaction, education, and community participation.
In his response, CP Kankarofi welcomed the programme and gave the assurance that the Police Command would support its implementation. He noted that officers from the Command would be available during the different stages of the tour and that the Police would take part in the campaign because of its relevance to issues affecting communities across the state.
The Commissioner also commended Governor Ododo for appointing young individuals into positions of responsibility within the state government, stating that such decisions reflect confidence in the capacity of young people to contribute meaningfully to governance.
Also present at the meeting were two Deputy Commissioners of Police from the Command and the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Saliu Oyiza.
The Kogi Anti-Fraud Awareness Campus Tour is expected to engage tertiary institutions across the three senatorial districts of the state as part of a broader effort to strengthen public awareness against fraud.
