The Area Superintendent of the Apostolic Church Nigeria Kogi State, Pastor Isaac Edafemuno Omohoro has faulted the 58th anniversary celebration of Nigeria Independence saying “Nigeria is celebrating iniquities and evil”.
Pastor Omohoro who stated this during an interview with our correspondent on Monday, in Lokoja, believes that there is nothing to celebrate in view of what is happening in the country.
The clergy maintained that the brutal killings in some parts of the country calls for concern and not paparazzi.
“The country is celebrating the blood of the innocent that are killed daily. They should cry and weep for the sin.
“Every sin committed is being committed by the leaders of this Nation from inception till now. So Nigeria should and cry. They don’t have anything to celebrate.
“As we are celebrating 58 birthday of Nigeria, we are old enough to put this nation in the right track. Let us look on to God. If we look on to God who have been showing mercy unto this nation, we will turn away from wickedness” he said.
Omohoro who also spoke on the preparation of the country ahead of the 2019 general election condemned the leadership of the country in its role in the just concluded Osun Election noting that ,Nigeria is sick and need prayers to recover.
According to him, “it is a shame with what we are experiencing in the Nigeria democracy. It is not so elsewhere. It is a shameful thing. So, may God grant them repentance.
“Nigeria is sick because all our national leaders are corrupt. Nobody is exempted in the leadership of Nigeria that is faithful. There is unfaithfulness. Look at the election, it demonstrated unfaithfulness. Open day robbery that is what it means. Nigeria is sick so we need prayers”
He however urged spiritual leaders in the country to pray fervently for a peaceful general election in 2019.
