The Advanced People’s Democratic Alliance (APDA) has called on Nigerians to re-dedicate their commitments to ensuring unity and faith in Nigeria.
This call was made in a press statement signed the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Tosin Adeyanju.
The party spokesman congratulated Nigerians on the nation’s attainment of fifty seven years of independence and eighteen years of return to civil and democratic governance. He called on Nigerians to pray for the sustenance of the growing democracy.
He enjoined Nigerians to see the sustainability of the nation’s democracy as a social duty by acquiring there voters card and voting for only credible persons for public offices.
“APDA appeals especially to the Nigerian women, youths and persons living with disabilities to get involved in the political process and reiterate its commitment to its constitutional provision of 35%, 25% and 5% of its appointive and elective positions in the party to women, youths and persons living with disabilities respectively as enshrined in our constitution.
“We urge the government not to relent on its efforts to ensuring that all treasury looters are brought to justice. We also advocate that such persons are stopped from participating in the electioneering process of the country in 2019.
“We appeal to the political class and all contending interest group to eschew violence and acts capable of impinging the corporate existence of our country and urge government to deploy inclusive policies that would promote cohesion and national integration,” the statement read.
APDA caled government to heed to the growing calls for constitutional review of the existing governance structures.
