Kogi State Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Victor Omofaiye, has expressed satisfaction on the level of work at gully sites in Okene and Adavi local government areas of the state.

Omofaiye made this known when he led the steering and technical committees of Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project (NEWMAP), Kogi State, on an on-the-spot assessment of ongoing and completed projects to Agassa and Ozuri gully sites on Wednesday.

He urged the contractor handling Agassa site to expedite action on the ongoing works, stressing that time is a luxury the state government does not have to spare.

He equally advised the contractor in Ozuri to speedily address the observations and concerns raised by the visiting team, preparatory to site handover.

Omofaiye explained that the essence of the exercise is to ascertain the completion status of ongoing projects, as well as determine sites’ handover readiness for completed jobs.

The State Project Coordinator of NEWMAP, Barr. Ladi Ahmed Jatto, urged both contractors to justify the huge investments on both gully sites by the environment friendly Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello.
