The Elders of the Kogi State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have praised Senator Natasha Akpoti-Udughan of Kogi Central for her New Year gestures, extending beyond her constituency to benefit the people of Kogi East and Kogi West.
The party elders, representing nine Local Government Areas in Kogi East and those in Kogi West under the umbrella of the Kogi PDP Elders Forum, consider the senator’s actions during a time of ethnic divisions in the state as magnanimous.
In a statement signed by Alhaji Ibrahim Dansofo, the PDP elders noted that this marks the first occasion in the history of Kogi State where a senator has undertaken such a humanitarian gesture.
The statement highlights: “On the eve of the New Year, Natasha Akpoti sent 10 bags of rice to the PDP leadership in every local government of Kogi East and West, in addition to the six trucks sent to Kogi Central. Your efforts have once again unified the state.”
The statement emphasized Senator Natasha’s role as a unifying factor in Kogi state politics, establishing her as a true leader of the party with leadership capabilities across all levels of the political hierarchy.
While commending Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s leadership, the elders urged her to remain vigilant and monitor party activities to prevent the infiltration of political opportunists seeking to hijack the party for their selfish interests.
They emphasized that as a party leader, Senator Natasha is well-positioned to contribute to party activities and programs across Kogi Central, West, and East, expressing gratitude for having a leader of her caliber and describing her as a rare gem that Nigeria takes pride in.
