New Year Celebrations: Lokoja LG Warns Against Burning of Tyres, Blocking Access Roads

Chairman, Lokoja local government council of Kogi state, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu has warned residents to refrain from burning vehicle tyres and other harmful activities that can pose a threat to the environment and public safety as usually witnessed during new year celebrations.

In a statement issued by Iliyasu Zakari, SSA on Media and Publicity to the Chairman, in Lokoja on Tuesday, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu said he is concerned about the potential risks and consequences of such actions.

He called on all residents to join hands in protecting public infrastructure, promoting a safe and healthy environment.

“The Chairman’s office is committed to ensuring that the New Year celebrations are enjoyable and incident-free, and is working closely with relevant agencies and stakeholders to achieve this goal.

“Residents are advised to explore alternative and safer ways to celebrate the New Year by creating a positive and festive atmosphere that is enjoyable for everyone, while also protecting our environment and public safety,” he said.
