New Commissioner of Police in Kogi, Hakeem Busari, on Thursday, assumed duty with a promise to sustain the fight against kidnapping, armed robbery and other criminal activities in the area.
Busari made the promise, promising to checkmate incessant communal clashes in the state as well as ensure provision of adequate security and safety of life and property.
Busari warned against any lawlessness from individuals or groups, stressing that he would not hesitate to deal with violators.
He, however, urged members of the public to sharpen their power of observation and report any suspicious movement or character within and around their communities to the police or any nearest security agency.
Busari replaces Ali Janga, who was redeployed to Bauchi State by Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, last week.
