New Kogi Commissioner of Police Visits Wada

Kogi State Government has restated its resolve to sustain the prevailing peace and security being enjoyed in the State.

Capt. Idris Wada, the Kogi State Governor, stated this when he received Mr. Hilary N. Opara (Mni), the new Commissioner of Police posted to the State.

The Governor, who lauded the role played by the Nigerian Police in the maintenance and sustenance of peace and security in the State, assured of adequate support of working tools that will enable men of the Command discharge their functions effectively.

Represented by his Deputy, Yomi Awoniyi, the State Governor urged the new Commissioner to bring his wealth of experience to bear in the policing of the State.

Capt. Wada described the State as a gate way with 23 State criss crossing on daily basis, added that the State is not only blessed with abundant human and natural resources,it equally offers a lot of possibilities , thus making it prune to crime and criminality.

He however assured of government’s deliberate support to ensure that the State remains the safest place for investment and for living.

While describing the out – going Commissioner of Police in the State, Mohammed Katsina as a Police Officer with high integrity and reputation, Capt Wada urged the incoming Police Commissioner to surpass the reputation of his predecessor in making the State a safe place.

In his speech, CP Hilary N. Okpara, promised to bring his wealth of experience to bear in curbing crime and providing security in the State.

While assuring of a peaceful State, he warned criminals to stay clear of the State, as he is determined to bring crime rate in the State to its lowest ebb.

The new Commissioner commended the State Government for its assistance to the Police Command with operational tools that has facilitated the effective policing of the State.
