The Kogi State Geographic Information System (KOGIS) headed by Hajiya Ladi Ibrahim was established in November 2017, is saddled with the responsibility of providing a secured land management system that can process, analyse, store and retrieve land data electronically In the state. The system is also designed to help track kidnappers, robbers and other criminals in the state.
The latest story coming out of the agency is disturbing, there is an allegations of illegal recruitment in favour of some particular set of people from Kogi Central by the Director General in person of Hajiya Ladi Ibrahim. The information gathered revealed that when the agency was established, the head of the agency boycott the normal procedure of advertising the various job openings available so the general masses can be aware, instead the various slots were shared among Government appointees from the three senatorial zone of the state, after several months of its establishment  the woman continued to recruit more intakes believed to be connected to her mostly from Kogi Central without proper consideration of their qualifications and aptitude for the job.
One of the people who have approached the agency for employment and treated unjustly gave account of his experience, He said He was there on several occasions but never given a chance to submit his CV,  as he was requested to present a letter of recommendation from a top ranking personality in Government before he can be offered a job.
I am calling on the State Government to investigate the agency and resolve the abnormal recruitment carried out by the Director General as Recruitment into Such key agency shouldn’t be tribalized. It’s a crass demonstration of ethnic bigotry by the DG and I consider it unethical and unhealthy for the progress of the State and the State civil service.
