The Kogi State Coordinator of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Mallam Zakari Abubakar has provided skill training for 550 persons in the state.
The Coordinator said that Buhari would rid the nation of hunger in the present dispensation through his renewed commitment to diversify in agriculture, boost skills acquisition among youths and small scale enterprises across the country.
Declaring open three months Skills Acquisition training for another one thousand beneficiaries in Kogi state, the coordinator said the scheme is aimed at empowering our future leaders to be self-reliant in their various vocations and even give jobs to the unemployed in the society.
He said that 550 unemployed youths under the current training will acquire skills in Tailoring, Computer application, Computer repairs, Hair dressing, Fashion & Design, Aluminium fabrication and welding while 400 would be trained on Cosmetology and 50 others who were earlier trained will go for advanced study.
He advised the beneficiaries to be of good behavior throughout the training to enable them derive the maximum grains of the opportunity afforded them by government.
The representative of the Kogi state Commissioner of Police, DSP Williams Aya who also spoke at the event commended the federal government in its continued efforts to empower the youths stressing that the gesture will go a long way in preventing crimes and criminalities in the country.
He described the training programme as a life time opportunity for the beneficiaries and urged government at all levels to sustain the spirit.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Adeniyi Adeniran thanked the NDE for given them the opportunity affirming that a well trained human being will surely stands to be useful in any given society.
