The National Chairman of Network for Change and Good Governance (NCGG), Comrade Ismaila Yusuf Atumeyi, has expressed sadness over the unfortunate September 20th ruling of the Supreme Court on Kogi governorship poll.
In a chat with Kogireports, Atumeyi said as law abiding citizens the group has accepted the verdict of the apex court in good faith.
He said the Supreme court betrayed the trust of the people and stabbed Nigeria’s constitution in the back with the anti-Kogi ruling.
“What we have in Kogi state now is a ‘Supreme Court Governor’. Supreme Court, not the good people of Kogi state, made him governor”, he said.
“With the situation on ground now, we at the NCGG hereby give Governor Yahaya Bello six (6) months to turn things around in Kogi state. Kogi state at 25 years is still backward.
“Alhaji Yahaya Bello was accused of shipping a lot of money to Abuja to buy judgements, we call on him to use the remaining change left in the state coffers to develop Kogi state.
“Kogi people are suffering while the governor and his aides are busy buying flashy cars, celebrating birthdays, marrying and re-marrying. Recently, it was revealed that his Lexus jeep is worth N143million!. This is the height of insensitivity!
The NCGG boss called on Kogi people to refrain from stoning the governor henceforth as the act does paint the state well. He advised that youth adopt popular street protests as against uncivilised approach to venting their anger against their representatives.
