Kogi State Police Command has highlighted activities to commemorate the National Police Day celebration which is scheduled to take place as from today, Wednesday 2nd April, 2025 to 7th April, 2027.

The event is organised in line with the presidential directive to introduce a National Police Day aimed at appreciating courageous police officers for their unwavering commitment and service to humanity and to also commemorate heroes whose bravery inspired us to appreciate them every day.

In a statement issued by Kogi State Command’s spokesman, SP William Aya, the celebration will feature free medical services to residents and sports, including walkathon.

Aya added that there will be stakeholders engagement meeting, sanitation exercise as well as school outreach to campaign against cultism and social vices.

The Command further seeks to strengthen collaboration with critical stakeholders in the community for effective implementation of community policing which will enhance security of lives and property in the state.

“This will further enhance Police-community partnership for a better and safer Kogi State.

“The day is set aside to give formal recognition to Police Officers who have given their all to protect others and make their communities safer places to live and work.

“The Command is hereby inviting the public to participate in the activities and sharpen our Policing approach for a better and secure Kogi State. These week is all about recognising the pivotal contribution of Police Officers and increasing understanding of their work across the Federation,” he said.
