?Sequel to a recent interview granted Comrade Yisau Adeyanju Yusuf Esq on the forthcoming national conference, Comrade Ade Ismail has debunked Yisau’s claim that Okun people do not have agenda.
In a terse interaction with Kogireports.com, Comrade Ade Ismail stated that he wished to respond to Yisau Adeyanju Yusuf submission on okun agenda.
“??Okun agenda is clear enough even for the blind to see”, he stated.
Okay. Can you highlight the Agenda?
Okun want first, re-classification of our region. ??We say in all factors in life, geographically, language, culture and otherwise, we are Yoruba and we want either a state for the Yoruba in Kogi and Kwara or we should be merge with our kit and kin in Ekiti.
??We want a region to be called south west region with full autonomy. ?A region that will have the constitutional power to create state and local government at the time it likes without necessarily waiting for other regions of the country.
??Also, we want immunity for civil matters alone.
??We want a new law for tax where regions have power to take tax on some specific items
We want all matters at the conference to be subjected to referendum
These and many others I may not remember at the moment are the agenda of okun yoruba people and is in line with what Yoruba all over the country want.
So, who and who will represent Okun interest at the conference?
??That this the problem with the composition of the members of conference. ??Kogi state was given three slots, and two came from the slot for North central. Out of this, only one slot is for us.
The okun people will be meeting on 5th of march to select who the person will be our representative.

Yes. ??It was one for each senatorial district. The other two is for the two other ethnic groups (Igala and Ebira)
How will okuns select a representative? What criteria will they use?
??We are organised people and you can be sure we will get a good representative. ??We have a colledge of elders and we have the Okun Development Association
??Each of this bodies has chairman and President and whoever is asked to represent us will do our bidding.
