Kogi state government has accused suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of employing tactics of defamation and disrespect for law and order to advance her political agenda.

Speaking on TVC’s Beyond the Headlines, the Special Adviser on Media to the Kogi State Governor, Ismaila Isah described the senator’s recent actions as part of a pattern aimed at manipulating public opinion.

Isah berated Natasha for consistently breaking the law, particularly her defiance of the government’s directive to ban public gatherings in the state to prevent breakdown of law and order.

“Senator Natasha Akpoti has a history of lawbreaking. Her recent actions, including the defiant rally and false claims, are part of a familiar pattern of defamation designed to gain public sympathy and undermine the government,” he said.

Isah refuted the lawmaker’s accusation of an assassination plot by Governor Ododo, describing it as “baseless and politically motivated”. He also accused the senator of attempting to manipulate her followers with such allegations, undermining the state’s leadership in the process.

Isah reaffirmed that the government had no involvement in the recall process and maintained that the petition was a legitimate expression of the will of her constituents, despite Natasha’s claims of the involvement of the state government.

He further added that the crowd that gathered at her so called home coming was not a true reflection of her popularity but rather a manipulation of economic struggles by the people and expression of frustration by failed politicians to fan her bloated ego.
