We wish to make clear to Kogi State students and indeed the general public that, executives of African Students Affairs, Leaders & Parliament (ASALP) under the leadership of Comrade Oladele John Nihi and Comrade Alaofin Blessing who doubles as EX-Officio1 and Kogi State Leader, National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) were not part and will never descend so low and cheap to have been part of the purported courtesy visit to Captain Idris Wada yesterday 28th August, 2013 by some groups of people who called themselves students leaders in Kogi State as widely reported.
As a matter of fact, African Students Affairs, Leaders & Parliament (ASALP) wish to condemn in strong term the visit of National Association of Kogi State Students (NAKOSS) to Kogi State governor at a time the association should be busy and more committed to the welfare of Kogi State students by speaking against the deplorable condition of education and massive unemployment among youths in Kogi State. Comr. Oladele John Nihi says “I could not believe the news of students executive body going to government to sing songs of praise for a government that has completely turn away his eyes on education leaving it in a state of abysmal; Government that is planning on turning education to money making venture or source of generating revenue by increasing tertiary institutions fee by 120%.”
The question I want to ask those shameless hungry student leaders are as follows: Is 18 sitter bus the problem of Kogi State Students because we were reliably inform the governor gave them brand new 18 sitter bus or is 1million naira enough to pay for their school fees or that of their relatives, brothers, sisters etc who are or will one day gain admission into any of the state tertiary institutions if the government is allow to implement the propose school fee increment? It is totally misplacement of priority on the part of those set of student leaders and a deceptive means the administration of Captain Idris Wada has employed or is employing to cover up his administration’s anti peoples policy to education in the state. The integrity and mission of those set of students was clearly express in the way and manner they turn Kogi State government house to a fighting hall over the 1million naira the governor gave them
He also alleges threat to the life Comr. Alaofin Blessing by some people he called government boys who are calling and threatening her to stop criticizing the government of Captain Idris Wada. “We also wish to bring to the notice of the general public and security personnel in the state the threat to the life of Comr. Alaofin Blessing by some government boys who has threatened to kill her if she does not stop speaking against Captain Idris Wada’s government.”
