My Dream To Play in Super Eagles is On Still Course – Gbenga Arokoyo

Mjällby and Nigerian Central defender Gbenga Arokoyo has told Savid Sports that  he is not ruling out any potential chance of playing for Nigeria at the South Africa’s  2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Europe exposure and experience of the former 2011 U-20 African Youth Championship winner cannot be overemphasized with few weeks into the start of the 2013 African Cup of Nations in South Africa and plenty worries over who could best solve the defensive flaws and serve as a good communicator between the backline and middle-park players.

The Kabba born defender reveals that, “it has always been my dream to play for the Super Eagles. i know my time will soon come on or after the Nations Cup. i will look forward to proving myself when called upon to do so.”

Savid Sports recall that the former Kwara United defender have  received invitations from erstwhile Super Eagles coach, Samson Siasia and current handler Stehpen Keshi but later abandoned the camp for a chance to ply his trade in Europe.

Following a successful season debut in Sweden with top division club side Mjallby AIF, Gbenga admitted, it will be a dream come through should he finally be in the Super Eagles to solve Keshi defensive worries.

“Its has always been in any dreams and aspirations to make the national team but right now, i need to contunue to play well and pray for a future chance to play in the national team.”

The yet-to-be-capped Nigerian star opened up to Savid Sports that he has been in touch with the National team head coach Stephen Keshi and now awaits the right time to receive the national team call-up.

The undesperate 19 year old, who is back home on break after a great season debut for his Swedish club Mjällby AIF will look forward to seeing himself on Keshi propable invitees for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.
