The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on the November 11 governorship election in Kogi state, Senator Dino Melaye says the murder of Kabiru Bala, a suspected criminal gang leader in Ejule, Ofu local government area was as a result of the internal crisis in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
The PDP flag bearer stated this in a chat with newsmen in Ekinrin-Adde at the weekend.
Senator Melaye, who did not explain further what he meant about internal crisis in the State APC, said “those who live by the sword will die by the sword.”
Bala, popularly known as Okwo, was alleged to be an APC thug who aided the party’s victories in recent elections but became unmanageable. He was neutralized last Thursday in Ejule during an exchange of gunfire with joint security taskforce operatives.
He was reported to have been responsible for kidnappings and killings in the Kogi East senatorial district of the state before he met his waterloo.
